General Information
In the heart of the Chianti area, just a few kilometers from Florence is the Renaissance "Villa Il Poggiale", classified as a historical home, entirely restored by its owners with the aim of offering the hospitality and atmosphere of a patrician family country house at really affordable prices.
The Villa has wonderful light and spacious rooms. The large hall, the heart of the house, with its beautifully painted doors, has comfortable armchairs and welcoming sofas, while various other smaller lounges offer quiet, cozy corners for reading and relaxation.
Each room has its own unique character. The walls are painted in soft pastels made from natural pigments. The fabrics used for curtains and canopies come from small Tuscan artisan workshops. Oriental silks, on the other hand, have been used in the salons and rooms on the ground floor.

The buffet that we serve can be justly called a "Tuscan Breakfast". Fresh ricotta cheese, jams, honey and prosciutto are supplied by nearby farms. Apple cinnamon cake, fruit tart, brioche bread, chocolate cake and quiches are all home made, some of which from old family recipes. A lovely day in the countryside starts with a good breakfast.

Take the Highway "Autostrada del Sole" (A1), and exit at "Firenze Certosa". From here enter the speedway to Siena, and take the first exit San Casciano V.P.. Drive for a couple of km and just before entering San Casciano, take a right turn towards Empoli-Cerbaia. After approximately 3 km, on your left, you will find Villa il Poggiale, surrounded by cypress trees.
