General Information
The Castle of La Selva built in 1134 was the last post in the state of Florence, protecting the Valle d'Ambra, situated on the border of Siena - Florence. On the 3 april 1554 a Sienese and French army attacked and destroyed the castle of La Selva at the time a Medici property The Castle in the 18th century was converted into a bella Villa by the Marchese Piuma and then passed by the Count Ferniani The scenery around is typical of the pictures
painted by the Renaissance artists.
This stately, secular estate, dating from the early 1200s, once belonged to the powerful Medici family, and is now property of another illustrious family: i Carpini . Wine-making is the unbroken thread that runs through countless generations, as far back as 1245; an enterprising friar called Giovanni Carpini was sent by Papa Innocent IV to the Emperor of Cathay bearing a gift of rare Tuscan rootstock.Todays descendants, Sergio and Riccardo Carpini, after brilliant careers as fabric makers to all the top fashion designers in the world, are putting Villa La Selva through a monumental restoration, of the vineyards, the villas and the winery.
Two of farmhouses are called Villa Felciai and Villa Fabbri, they were built by the grand duc of tuscany Leopoldo II of Lorena, in fact they are named " Leopoldine"
They are twin farmhouses that dominate two gentle hills with 360° degree views of rolling hills that spread as far as the eye can see .They are completely independent, 250 mts from each other .They offer all the modern comforts and have been decorated respecting the traditional style of the time maintaining intact its original architectural features.
Each villa has its own private pool both in a beautiful panoramic position.Villa Felciai 545 square mts. Sleeps 22+2 in 11 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms with private swimming pool 10 x 5 mts, outdoor furnishings and a large bar-b-que . Villa Felciai is an ancient villa which was once part of a larger farm in the estate of La Selva. It was recently renovated and brought back to its original splendour; situated about 200 mts from the main villa in La Selva, Villa Felciai is situated on a small road that leads to the wonderful medieval hamlet of Montebenichi. The charming villa is a delight to look at and interior decors are in typical Tuscan style. All bedrooms are very different from each other in style and have their own en-suite bathroom. Terracotta floors and original vaulted and beamed ceilings add to the character of this extremely welcoming villa. You will feel at home right away!

Sleeps 21 in 10 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms with private swimming pool 10 x 5 mtsIn a panoramic position overlooking the unspoiled valley below,sunbeds, garden furniture and a large built-in barbecueIs the twin sister of Villa Felciai, situated on the hill next to it (about 200 mts) . It is a large independent villa with a charming tower. The villa and the pool are surrounded by ancient oak trees that offer ideal shaded spots to have a nap
in a hot summer's afternoon or a quiet read.
On one side of the house, there is a large covered porch of 54 sqmts, with a huge marble and iron table for dining 'al fresco'. Ground floor:a wide hall leads to 3 rooms: the kitchen, the dining room the living room.
The separate kitchen is very spacious, fully equipped with raised original fireplace.The very large dining room with a long dining table opens onto garden on the side of the swimming pool accessed by two French doors.
There are also a living room with another fireplace and a separate TV room.

The annexe(135 sqm) sleeps 5 :
guests can also use the annexe an old barn just 6 metres from the main villa.
This is also completely renovated and will be rented only together with the villa. On the ground floor is a large room mainly used as a living room or playroom and 1 bathroom with shower.On the first floor there are 2 rooms with 5 single beds.
The annexe is ideal for children of a large party renting the entire villa.Terrazza110 square mts upper level, sleeps 4 in 2 double bedrooms 2 bathrooms with 14x7 mts shared swimming pool A very charming apartment decorated in the traditional Tuscan style. It has a large fully equipped kitchen with a fireplace, 2 double bedrooms. 1 very large bathroom with bath 1 bathroom with shower. There is a living room which opens out to a large terrace (60 sq. mts.) and has a large table for outdoor dining, there is terrace furniture for outdoor sunning.
It has a great view on all sides overlooking the private grounds and gardens of the Villa.
